14 this morning; So-Shan in charge (and I got there early so I was first one in the tower - I do love the empty space just before you ring!) while our TC Paul and Kate were away for the weekend so rounds on 6 to start with for Louise and Max C, then rounds and call changes on 12, Grandsire Triples, PH9 for So-Shan, Cambridge Minor, more rounds on 8 for Louise with her ringing both strokes really well - thanks Chris and Adrian for standing by, and finished off with some lovely rounds on 12. A select gathering of 4 for coffee @fortunella_cafe ☕️

Only 5 currently down for #evensong ringing so if you’re free and in Kingston please do come and lend a helping hand as normal ringing tonight and we need some help and muscle ringing the back bells down 🔔

Rounds on 12 and PH6 for DofE teen Ed 👏, PH7, and Grandsire Triples (twice; snippet on video), featuring an unintentional grouping by gender (pics 4, 5, 6). Tonight was the Surrey Association's annual Quiz Night. No ringing involved, only cogitating, debating, guessing and scrawling... the Kingston Wingers were few in number but long on general knowledge (who knew?), scoring a very respectable 5th out of 17 teams, with 99.5 points. Congratulations to Caterham, the winners, and thanks to quizmaster Richard and all the organisers. A fun time was had by all 👏👏👏

11 tonight for practice; So-Shan in charge. Started with call changes on 8 (pic 10 shows Adrian checking with Max who he was following after a call 👍🏻); quick walkthrough and lesson for #dukeofedinburghaward teens Ed and Max for PH6 with Chris Ridley, followed by watching Roshan ring it, and then it was action time for Ed and Max who took to it like ducks to water! 👏🏻 And the final go before they had to leave was almost perfect! Impressive stuff!; touch of Grandsire Doubles for Pip X2 (the one at the end was great 👍🏻); PBD with both So-Shan and Kate ringing and it went well 👍🏻; Treble bobbing into Cambridge Minor blew away some cobwebs for our experienced ringers (with So-Shan telling Pip on treble where she should be ringing - I know the theory, it’s the ringing I can’t do! 🤣); Roshan had some practice tenoring behind to Grandsire Triples; and So-Shan trebled to PB Minor (hunting to 4 and back). Good practice night and fun pub chat. We stayed well past our bed time! 🍺 #kingstonbellringers #bellringing #kingstonuponthames #allsaintschurchkingston⛪️
